Civil Legal Services for LGBTQ Survivors

This project is a partnership between NMCADV, New Mexico Legal Aid, the Coalition to Stop Violence Against Native Women, Equality New Mexico, and the Transgender Resource Center. Safe to Be You! provides free civil legal services for LGBTQ survivors of violence.

Project staff provide legal advice, referrals, and/or full representation on issues including: protection/restraining orders; eviction, housing and foreclosure; public benefits; credit problems; health care access; employment; family law; immigration; name change and other legal issues associated with gender change.
