About This Event

We are excited to announce the start of our next Advocacy Café series, an interactive webinar series which will bring in both local and national experts to present on a variety of topics related to accessibility, cultural responsiveness, innovative practices and Awareness! This series will be targeted to domestic violence advocates and other direct service providers working in the domestic violence field but we welcome the community to attend. Each session will include a one-hour educational topic and 30 minutes at the end for attendees to chat and share ideas. We also feature community members and organizations that work to prevent Domestic Violence.

This Month’s Advocacy Cafe Session

Jennifer Milligan of ARC New Mexico joins us to talk about Disability Pride Month.

Jen has spent the majority of her career in the nonprofit field. The last 5 have been spent serving individuals living with I/DD. She comes to Albuquerque as a recent transplant from Durango Colorado where she was once a residential program manager and a contracted family style care provider to two adults living with I/DD. New to the Albuquerque area and to the Arc, Jen and her team are leading the way with a pilot program, providing sexual assault advocacy services specific to survivors living with I/DD.
