Join us to learn about diversified fundraising revenue! This panel discussion covers why diverse funding creates stability and keeps you from being dependent on one source of funding. We will learn about social media campaigns, fundraising, local foundations and grant opportunities!

About Your Facilitators

Theresa Armendariz, PHR, has earned her BA in Management with a specialization in Human Resource Management and has been a certified Professional in Human Resources since 2001. Theresa came to NMCADV with 15 years of experience in the field of domestic violence services including over 7 years as an Executive Director. She is currently managing the administrative operations of NMCADV and providing support to programs throughout the state in areas such as data collection, grant writing, and personnel management.

Angel Charley, executive director of the Coalition to Stop Violence Against Native Women, is a citizen of the Pueblo of Laguna and Navajo Nation. As the director of the Coalition she is committed to building values-driven solutions that have the ability to inform system transformation around violence against Native women and girls, deepen Indigenous power building, and affirm Indigenous knowledge systems within the movement to end gender-based violence. Charley was appointed to the New Mexico Murdered and Missing Indigenous Relatives Taskforce in 2019 and has been recognized by the New Mexico State Senate for her dedication to help bring awareness to the MMIW movement and advocacy. Charley also serves on the board of directors for the Albuquerque Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners Collaborative, is on the board of the Alliance of Tribal Coalitions to End Violence, and is the board chair for the Native American Professional Parent Resources, Inc. She holds a degree in Communication from the University of Hawaii.

Rodney Prunty is a passionate, dedicated community servant with 35 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, including 15 years with United Way. Rodney began employment at United Way in 2007 as a resource development manager forUnited Way of Rock River Valley, where he was responsible for developing and implementing fundraising strategies and donor cultivation for the annual campaign. In 2010, he was promoted to vice president of United Way of Rock River Valley (UWRRV). In this role, he oversaw an array of activities for the organization including human resources, organizational budgets, volunteer recruitment, community partnerships, community initiatives, campaign, and grants. Rodney joined United Way of Racine County (UWRC) in August of 2013 as the President and Chief Professional Officer. In his role, Rodney helped create a culture of relationship management in UWRC’s resource development department, which was integral to UWRC’s fundraising success.
