Join NMCADV and Legal Aid in the third part of this three-part series to learn about Orders of Protection from start to finish. Throughout this series, you have learned technical information from an attorney and gained knowledge from an advocate on the advocate’s role in navigating this legal system. This section will offer the perspective of other disciplines in a panel discussion to end the series.

Facilitators
Ida Aguirre was born in El Paso, TX but raised in Sunland Park, NM. She moved to Las Cruces, NM as a teenager where she graduated from Las Cruces High…GO BULLDAWGS! After taking some time off of college, she returned in 2007, and graduated from NMSU in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and 2 minors (Spanish and Security Technology). She started working at La Casa in 2005. While at La Casa, she worked as a receptionist, intake worker for Batterers Intervention Program (BIP), BIP facilitator, Assistant Shelter Manager, and also some case management. She was also at DASO (Dona Ana Sheriff’s Office) for close to 10 years and eventually was rehired back at La Casa part-time as a BIP Facilitator. She did BIP groups for 9 total years and in 2021, she was offered a job as Support Services Assistant Director, at La Casa, Inc. which led to her leaving DASO. She was asked to join the Family Peace Initiative Family out of Topeka, Kansas as a co-facilitator for their BIP groups in October of 2020 and still continues to do groups, one of which was the first Spanish group the organization offered. She was also contracted with NMCADV as one of the Core Advocacy Trainers but as of May 16, 2022, she officially became a full-time staff member with NMCADV as Program Support Specialist!
She is a mother of 3 GREAT kids and have been in a relationship with her childhood sweetheart for over 9 years. She also loves to dance and play volleyball, draw, paint, photography, and spend time with friends.
Panelists
Dr. Celina G. Bryant MSW, PhD is the executive director of Grammy’s House. She has been with Grammy’s House since 2005. She’s been a counselor, group facilitator, interim director and executive director. Her PhD is in Social Psychology. Her dissertation research focused on help-seeking behaviors of female survivors of domestic violence in rural New Mexico. She has been with Grammy’s House since 2005 and am committed to social change in my community. She is also an adjunct faculty member for SENMC and recently became the Chair for NMSU-Carlsbad’s Program Advisory Board within the social sciences department. She is dedicated to being a part of positive social change whenever possible. Her goal, as the director of a domestic violence agency, is to continuously provide support and resources with the intent of
instilling hope and empowerment in all of our clients.
Rosemary Traub has been serving as a Domestic Relations Hearing Officer in the Second
Judicial District Court since August, 2018, primarily in domestic violence cases. She previously
worked for New Mexico Legal Aid at the Albuquerque Family Advocacy Center for 7 years,
representing victims of domestic abuse, stalking and sexual assault in orders of protection and
domestic matters cases. Prior to that she prosecuted domestic violence and stalking criminal
cases as an Assistant District Attorney in the 13th Judicial District Court for 4 years. She received
the 2015 Justice Pamela B. Minzner Outstandin g Advocacy for Women Award from the
Committee on Women and the Legal Profession. She also received the 2015 Domestic Violence
Resource Center Purple Ribbon Award. She also was in private practice for many years handling family law, abuse and neglect, misdemeanor defense and mental health commitment cases.
Rosemary is a native New Mexican. She received her degrees from the University of New Mexico and California Western School of Law in San Diego, California in 1985. She is the proud mother of two sons in their 30’s. In her free time she enjoys hiking, traveling, cooking and keeping up with her 2 dogs and 2 cats.
Mica Reagan's first opportunity to serve NM youth and families came as the program assistant for NMKids Matter Inc. There she learned from the incredible leadership just what kind of woman leader in community she wanted to be. Her next opportunity to serve came when she went on to serve Valencia County as the Multidisciplinary Team Coordinator for crimes against children with Valencia Shelter Services Children’s Advocacy Center. There she was also privileged to serve as a Victim Service Advocate for survivors of domestic violence as well as sexual assault. She was offered a position with All Faiths Children’s Advocacy center to facilitate and supervise High Fidelity Wraparound and working with a core service agency that takes a holistic approach to serving the most vulnerable populations in community was important to her. She is the proud parent of an incredible, intelligent, beautiful college student and a quirky covid puppy. She is also a proud veteran of the US Army.
Paige Mowrer an Assistant District Attorney in the Metropolitan Division of the Second Judicial District Attorney's Office. She has been prosecuting misdemeanor Domestic Violence and DWI cases for two and a half years. She is currently the Custody Arraignments attorney and a Resource attorney for her division. In her role, she has spoken with numerous victims of domestic violence and has prosecuted a large number of Violation of Restraining Order (VRO) cases. She has also coordinated and conducted several trainings on how to successfully prosecute a VRO case and how to navigate restraining orders in preparation for trial.
Patricia Lyke has been a victim advocate with the 2nd Judicial District Attorney's office since 2019. Born and raised in New Mexico, Patricia received her B.S in Psychology from the University of New Mexico. After graduating, Patricia worked in several public service positions before finding her niche in the victim advocacy space. At the District Attorney's office, Patricia works primarily with victims of misdemeanor domestic violence, offering education and support through the criminal justice process.
Retired State Police Captain Quintin McShan, spent decades as a law enforcement officer, first as a military policeman and then with New Mexico State Police, where he served for 29 years. With a passion for helping others in need and a penchant for investigations, Quintin McShan founded Homeland, a New Mexico-based private investigation training and consulting firm, in 2007. His decades of experience as a police officer and expertise as a private investigator are used to assist individuals, attorneys, state agencies, and corporations with an array of cases in need of investigation or consultation. He has created curricula accredited and utilized by the New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy, where he is recognized as a master instructor. With a deep sense of commitment, Quintin is also a strong advocate for supporting domestic violence victims and survivors. Over the years, he has shared his time, knowledge, and leadership skills while serving on several boards for shelters, advocacy groups, and advisory councils promoting awareness of and protection from domestic violence.
